The Lorain County Valor Home is Teaming up with The Music on a Mission Band and Pogie’s Catering to bring an Oktoberfest buffet benefit and concert to Amherst, Ohio. The date is October 24th at The Amherst VFW Hall, located at 165 Cleveland Ave in Amherst. Doors open at 5 pm, dinner is at 5:30 pm, and the cash bar will be open until 9 pm. Pogie’s Oktoberfest menu will feature herb roasted chicken, beer brats with caramelized onions, smoked garlic kielbasa with bacon & beer sauerkraut, and cabbage & noodles, with plenty of sides and desserts. The Music on a Mission Band will play live party tunes and there will be a cash bar and raffles.
The Valor Home of Lorain County is a transitional housing program for homeless male veterans. They help the residents through structured and engaging therapies such as art, music and life skills therapy on-site four days a week. Their support workers offer advocacy and encouragement to the residents.
